This project originated in the design phase as a major gut & remodel of an old, poorly maintained home acquired recently by our client.  The original concept – a modern one story home set upon a  hill looking over the Little Miami River Valley – was beautifully conceived by Platte Architecture.

Close inspection of the original structure revealed issues with the building’s structural framing and a failing foundation which made the remodel impactable.  The customer asked Mayfield & Co to use Platte’s vision as a starting point and re-design construction documents as a tear down and re-build.

Unconstrained by the limitations of the existing building, we moved the large modern kitchen (designed by NOLI) and the master bedroom suite from the front of the house to the rear where both rooms capture the property’s expansive views.  

Further, we were able to add a full-depth walkout-basement with exercise and recreation room, two bedrooms and a large bathroom with no increase in the project budget.  This project is under construction with a June 1st 2025 target for completion.
